Venue: Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research
On May 3, 2011, EUTW and the National Taiwan University Press held a book release on the European Union Studies in Taiwan Series: “New Era of the European Union’s Economic & Trade Policies” at the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research. Opening speeches were given by Director Jieh Hsiang of NTU Press and EUTW Director General and Jean Monnet Chair Dr. Hungda Su. The book editor, Soochow University Professor of Law, Dr. Li Guiying gave a brief introduction of the book and Professor Huang and Professor Luo of Academia Sinica Institute of American and European Studies were also both present at the event to lend their support. A good number of students and EU enthusiasts were also on-site and participated eagerly.
Professor Li’s brief introduction about the book encompassed topics ranging from the Euro to climate change as well as other current and relevant themes with regards to Europe and the EU. Many books were also sold during the event, and the warm reception of the guests and their unwavering support made the book release a huge success.
