The European Union Innovation Week, held biennially in Taiwan, is organized by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), bringing delegations to Taiwan for industrial dialogues with key stakeholders across government, academia, and industry.

This year’s EU Innovation Week will be held from 21st to 23rd October 2025 at the Taipei International Convention Center. Among the highlighted events, the “Taiwan–EU Drone Technology and Export Forum” will take place on 22nd October in the afternoon, co-hosted by the European Economic and Trade Office (EETO), the European Union Centre in Taiwan, the Asia UAV AI Innovation Application R&D Center, TÜV Rheinland, and STMicroelectronics.

This marks the first time that drone technology has been included in the EU Innovation Week agenda. A delegation of related European enterprises will also be visiting Taiwan for this occasion.

Key representatives from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) and the Directorate-General for Defence Industry and Space (DG DEFIS) will present EU policies and regulatory frameworks concerning drones. Notably, this will also be the first public forum participation in Taiwan by DG DEFIS.
