Geopolitical studies Summer school 2014: The EU as a geopolitical factor

Organized by IPS FSS Charles University in Prague

Project Introduction: IPS FSS is glad to announce its Summer School in Geopolitics, which is going to be held in the Czech Republic in 2014. Its location in the heart of Europe makes it more capable of offering a comprehensive programme for our participants. Our experts and external professionals in covered fields will contribute to this event.

The main objective of Summer School is to offer a high-profile study course for Czech as well as foreign students and young professionals currently enrolled in Bachelor´s and Master´s programs.

Please fill in the application form and send it, along with your CV to riegl@fsv.cuni.cz by June 30, 2014. The selected participants will be notified.

Participation fee:
Registration fee amounts to 250 EUR. Accommodation and meals will not be fully covered by organizers; foreign participants’ travel expenses will not be reimbursed. Participants will receive more information upon their selection.

What is not included in the program fee?

International travel, travel related expenses (visa and insurance) and accommodation is not included in the participation fee. After evaluation of your application we will send you the conditional invitation about the payment of the participation fee and later the unconditional letter by email and by fax to the embassy and other institutions.

Eligibility:
Students currently enrolled in Bachelor´s or Master’s degree programs in Geopolitics, Area Studies, Political Science, International Relations and Economics and other relevant fields. There are no age or country limits for the application

£32,558 - £38,432 p.a. inclusive of London AllowanceFounded in 1999, the SOAS Centre of Taiwan Studies has developed
rapidly and is arguably now the world’s leading centre of Taiwan
Studies. This post is funded by a generous grant from the Ministry of
Education in Taiwan, and offers an exciting career development
opportunity to teach in a unique academic institution focused on
Taiwan.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach on the Centre’s
existing postgraduate and undergraduate courses in Taiwan Studies and
to help develop and teach on new courses. The current courses cover
Taiwan’s history, politics, international relations, cross-Strait
relations, society & culture, film, and economic development.

You will also take an active role in administering the Centre’s
various Taiwan Studies projects. This will include organising academic
conferences and seminars, managing the Centre’s WebPages, and helping
facilitate the further development of its outreach activities. The
post holder will take up the role of the Deputy Director of the Centre
of Taiwan Studies.

The Asia-Pacific Journal of EU Studies, which is an official journal of the EU Studies Association of Asia-Pacific (EUSA Asia-Pacific), is published twice a year. The journal is usually published in August (due date: end of June) and in February (due date: end of November). The Journal aims to provide an international forum for the dissemination of academic research and policy debate on the external dimensions and international implications of European issues. The Journal is by nature multidisciplinary, and the research area comprises theoretical and empirical evaluations of European integration, relations between the EU and the Asia-Pacific region, comparative analysis and policy studies, and related issues.
