2016 EU-Taiwan International Food Trade Seminar: "For Safer and Better Food"

Event Introduction :
With the support of Taiwanese authorities, the EU and Taiwan have been holding seminars on food safety annually in recent years to provide a platform for government officials, industry and academic representatives from both sides to facilitate exchanges on relevant issues. To strengthen bilateral policy exchange and experience sharing on food trade, the European Economic and Trade Office (EETO), under the framework of the European Business and Regulatory Cooperation Programme (EBRC), the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine (BAPHIQ) and the Agriculture and Food Agency (AFA) of the COA, EY, the Food and Drug Administration (TFDA), MOHW, the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), MOEA, and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), are jointly organising this seminar on 9 March 2016.

The seminar will bring together government officials and experts from both the EU and Taiwan to share experience on four sessions: SPS audits and inspections in the EU and Taiwan and trading partner countries; animal disease control in the EU and Taiwan and regionalisation in the EU; border and behind-the-border measures ensuring food safety; as well as modern organic products regulation and best practices.

[Call for Papers] Annual conference and Postgraduate Student Workshop hosted by EUSA AP (June 29-30, 2015)
The European Union Studies Association Asia Pacific (EUSA AP) is inviting papers for the annual conference and Postgraduate Student Workshop. The conference is entitled:

30 Years after the Single European Act
Wednesday, 29 June and Thursday, 30 June 2016 in Hong Kong


The conference will be multi-disciplinary in focus and we are inviting papers from a wide range of academic disciplines to look at findings in relation to the Single European Act and the Asia Pacific Relationship.

The conference proposed to discuss the following sub-themes in further detail:

Timeline

Call for Papers: mid to late September 2015
Deadline for abstract submissions: 15 March 2016
Paper presenters will be notified of acceptance: 31 March 2016
Full papers to be submitted by: 15 June 2016

Postgraduate Students working in any area of EU and Asia Pacific relations or European Integration are invited to register as well.

Registration fees

A moderate registration fee of EUR 50 will be charged for paper presenters and Postgraduate students participating in the workshop. Registration for conference guests will be EUR 30. Registration fees will be charged via PayPal.The fee will be EUR50 per person.
