EUSA ASIA PACIFIC CONFERENCE 2023.BANGKOK, THAILAND
Thursday 29 & Friday 30 June 2023

Twenty-five Years of EU Studies in the Indo-Pacific: challenges, changes, prospects.

The 2023 EUSAAP annual conference and postgraduate workshop hosted by Chulalongkorn University and EUSA Thailand will celebrate and revisit the state of EU Studies within our region. This past quarter century has seen a number of frameworks introduced spanning from the ASEM format initiated in 1996 to the 2021 EU Indo-Pacific Strategy, and interspersed with the designation of four Indo-Pacific countries as EU Strategic Partners (Japan, Korea, China, India). This conference invites papers that explore these innovations and changing priorities embracing interdisciplinary perspectives – International Relations, Political Science, Law, Economics and History.

Papers can be submitted either individually or in a panel format (up to 4 people). Online applications are open from early December 2022 and will close on the 28th February 2023, with email notification of acceptance/ rejection sent by mid-March 2023.

The academic conference will be held over two days (Thursday and Friday) and participants are expected to attend both days.

The postgraduate workshop will be held on one day parallel to the academic conference. The workshop will be conference-style presentations and facilitated by experienced academics which will provide supportive and constructive feedback.

The organisers reserve the right to re-arrange panels and presentation at short notice to accommodate operational requirements. Sessions are 90 minutes each, and presentations are expected to be 15 minutes in length, allowing approx. 5 minutes Q&A per paper. The session chair will facilitate the discussion.
