EUTW has been invited to join the HUI-EU Workshop 2023, jointly organized by RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, and the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. The program aims to provide from 6-18 months of PhD students, recommended by the three institutions and their partner schools, with opportunities to establish academic connections with peers in the regional European and EU studies community, thereby deepening their mutual exchange. The program will host PhD regional conferences in the three locations throughout 2023. The HUI-EUI Workshop will be held on 1-3 November, 2023 in Taipei, at the College of Social Sciences, National Taiwan University. Eligible PhD students currently enrolled at National Taiwan University are invited to submit the required documents, as specified by the organizers, to the center (ntueutw@ntu.edu.tw, subject: The HUI-EUI Workshop by September 1. The center will select two PhD students to attend the conference. The required documents specified by the organizers are as follows: 500 word outline of thesis topic;
200 word statement as to why they wish to attend the HUI-EU Workshop, and what they hope to gain from it;
Clarification of the stage of PhD at which they are at, and the date they enrolled on the PhD programme;
Short Curriculum Vitae;

After passing the Brexit referendum in 2016, the UK went through several prime ministers until the end of 2020 to reach an agreement with the EU, and officially left the EU in 2021.

How will post-Brexit Britain be repositioned? The European Innovation Week is a joint initiative of the European Commission in collaboration with Taiwan governmental agencies. It will feature a series of seminars, as well as clusters networking and company site visits. The B2B, B2C and C2C (C as clusters) matchmaking meetings will be held on 31 May, which will bring European and Taiwanese companies, clusters and institutes together to facilitate more cooperation. In conjunction with COMPUTEX TAIPEI, the EU Directorate-General for Growth, the Bureau of Foreign Trade, MOEA, and the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) will host the "2023 European Innovation Week." This year's event will focus on themes such as ICT, circular economy, space, 6G, hydrogen energy, robotics, Horizon Europe, and startups. A series of forums, matchmaking meetings, and site visits will be held. The event will feature a free B2B and industry cluster matchmaking meeting on May 31, assisting businesses and research institutions in finding European partners. The Italian Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Office will debut the "Europe in Italian Illustrations" exhibition in Taiwan from 6 to 15 May, 2023. The exhibition's first venue will be at the Historical Archives of National Taiwan University, featuring 16 illustrations by renowned Italian artists along with explanatory notes. Commissioned by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, this exhibition draws inspiration from the 1957 Treaty of Rome and the well-known "Ventotene Manifesto," advocating for a "Europe of freedom and unity." It aims to celebrate Europe Day on 9 May through this showcase. On 6-7 May, during the European Festival at Huashan Grassland, the Italian Economic, Trade and Cultural Promotion Office booth will feature two illustrations from the exhibition for a sneak peek. (No. 1, Sec. 5, Hsin-Yi Road, Taipei台北市信義區信義路五段1號1樓) Introduction 介紹 2023 EUTW Forum on Environment and Science- 2023 EU-Taiwan Hydrogen Roundtable   With the global focus on reducing carbon emissions, hydrogen is seen as a highly promising clean energy source. In 2020, the European Commission adopted the "EU strategy on Hydrogen ", which aims to generate 1GW of hydrogen energy in Europe before 2030 and achieve widespread adoption of hydrogen energy in Europe by 2050. European countries have also set their own hydrogen energy development plans. In Taiwan's energy transformation white paper, hydrogen energy is also seen as an important future energy source. In response to the government's goal of achieving zero carbon emissions by 2050, the development of relevant hydrogen energy industries and promotion of hydrogen energy applications are goals for all parties. This forum is co-hosted by the European Union Centre in Taiwan and the European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan Low Carbon Initiative. It not only invites European and Taiwanese officials to explain bilateral policies and current situations, but also invites industry, academia, and other parties to exchange opinions on international cooperation, infrastructure, financial investment, and practical experience.
