Did you know that Poland was among the first countries to appoint an Ombudsman for Children? Throughout December, we will put on a series of events which will give you a chance to learn more about protection of children’s rights, and Poland’s leading role in youth advocacy.
On December 1st at noon, we invite you to join us at the opening of the "European Human Rights for Children: Polish Heritage" exhibition in the Zu-Zan Hall of NTU Library. The interpreter, Ms Lin Gorecka, will promote the recently published book of Janusz Korczak "How to love a child?"
Also, we look forward to welcoming you to a seminar on "Protections of Children’s Rights in Poland and Taiwan." It is also scheduled to take place on 1 December, at 1:30 pm, at the School of Law of NTU (1301 Multi-Media Room).
The seminar will feature many prominent speakers who made significant contributions to the field of children’s rights. Among them are the Polish Ombudsman for Children, Marek Michalak, the Chairperson of the International Janusz Korczak Association, Batia Gilad, and a social adviser to the Ombudsman, Barbara Smolińska-Theiss. The host of the seminar will be Professor Liao Fu-te, from Academia Sinica & National Taiwan University, Department od Law. His research focuses on human rights.

主題:「設計與歐洲城市觀光發展」

地點:臺北市華山文創園區臺北紅館
今年適逢臺北市獲選為「2016年世界設計之都」(2016 World Design Capital),而提升台北市之城市意象、創造城市品牌價值和促進以設計主導之文化觀光發展乃是主要目標之一。為了回應此一政策方針,此次歐洲文化論壇將以「設計與歐洲城市觀光發展」為主題,邀請兩位來自於法國和英國之學者分享歐洲的寶貴經驗。論壇內容包含了:城市設計、建築設計、空間設計、服務設計等與觀光發展之關聯,以及創意與設計園區之設立、設計遊程之規劃,和設計與地方品牌化之關聯等。
首先,法國昂傑大學副校長暨觀光學院教授Jean-René Morice博士將以法國南特市(Nantes)為例,探討藉由設計與藝術驅動城市觀光發展之策略。南特,作為一個昔日風光的海港城市,隨著製造業沒落所帶來的經濟蕭條,該市從90年代起展開了一連串以藝術、文化、創意所主導的都市再生計畫,並冀望帶動文化觀光發展。透過城市設計之改善、文創園區的設立、設計藝術節慶之舉辦,和裝置藝術點綴等,南特逐步被打造成為一個創意城市。如今,南特已成為歐洲首屈一指的創意與文化觀光目的地。Morice教授將透過觀察、調查和與當地觀光規劃專業人士之訪談,探究設計與藝術如何地融入政策規劃中,以及如何發展出觀光與文化群聚之策略。
接著,英國倫敦西敏大學觀光研究中心副教授暨國際事務主任Nancy Stevenson博士將以英國倫敦為例。倫敦乃是全球創意產業的發源地,並在全球設計舞台上扮演舉足輕重之地位。Stevenson博士演講之焦點將放在倫敦如何地運用設計來形塑其城市意象,以及城市觀光之產品和服務。首先,將以構成倫敦天際線之旗艦計畫為例,闡明建築設計之角色。接著則以交通網絡和結點、城市空間設計為例,探究公共服務設計與觀光發展之關聯。最後,將以位於倫敦東郊Stratford的2012年奧運公園為個案,探討設計如何被廣泛地運用到該區域之發展。並以都市設計如何能創造空間來吸引遊客造訪作為結語,包含了標誌性建築、旅遊路線設計和公共空間與城市生活三個構面。
此次論壇也將邀請國立臺灣科技大學建築系教授兼系主任施植明博士,和國立臺灣師範大學歐洲文化與觀光研究所助理教授賴嘉玲擔任兩個場次之與談人。並由國立臺灣師範大學法語教學中心教師暨中法文化教育基金會副執行長林棋凡博士擔任第一場次之法翻中口譯。

[Report] 2016 EUTW FORUM IV (30 Sep., 2016)
The fourth 2016 EUTW Forum " The European Union under the Crisis: Challenges and Opportunities” was hosted by European Union Centre in Taiwan; European Module, Jean Monnet Action, National Chengchi University; National Central Library. The forum was moderated by Prof. Chang, Tai-Lin, Professor of the Department of European Languages and Cultures NCCU, Program Director of Jean Monnet Action. Deputy Foreign Minister Wu, Chih-Chung was the discussant of the forum. Prof. Cho, Chung-Hung of Graduate Institute of European Studies, Tamkang University, analyzed the political stalemate of the four political parties in the Spain parliament; Assistant Professor Lin, Tzu-Li of the Department of Political Studies of Tunghai University discussed the recent Brexit referendum and its impact on the EU; Chang, Meng-Jen , Director and Assistant Professor of Department of Italian Language and Literature of Fu Jen Catholic University, addressed the risks of Italy’s constitutional reform and referendum to leave the EU. Finally, Prof. Hung, Mei-Lan of the Graduate Institute of Russian Studies of National Chengchi University talked about the current EU political and economic developmental challenges from the integration of EU and Ukraine. Deputy Wu also reviewed with the guests about ways to deal with the current EU issues and had a discussion with the former Director-General of European Affairs, Ambassador Chiu, Jong-Jen.
