2019 EUTW FORUM VI, which is the last forum held this year, has been successfully held on 20 December, 2019. With its topic, "The Future of the European Integration : Challenges and Opportunities," this forum concluded what has happened in EU throughout this year and provided us with a picture of the future in EU.

It was hosted by Professor Tai-Lin CHANG, Professor of the Department of European Languages and Cultures NCCU and Program Director of Jean Monnet Action. Professor Chen-Yu Huang, Associate Professor of Department of Public Administration, Tam Kang University, Professor Meng-Jen, Chang, Chairman of Department of Italian Language and Culture, Fu Jen Catholic University, and Professor David Wu, Dean for International Affairs, Office of International Affairs, Shih Hsin University have shared their perspectives and research on Brexit, Italian role in EU, and democratization in central European countries respectively. We are also glad to have Dr. Klement Ruey-Sheng GU, Director-General, Department of Policy Planning, MOFA and Mr. Guillaume Delvallée, Deputy Director, French Office in Taipei as our discussants during this forum.

EUTW, for the first time, cooperated with European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan and four luxury brands to hold "Get to Know Luxury" Exhibition, and it has been successfully held on 19 December, 2019.

The purpose of this event is not only for students to gain insights into the luxury industry but they also provided internship opportunities for students at NTU, hoping to recruit talents who aspire to pursue their career in such industry and helping students have diverse experience in their career paths.

There was also a forum, "Dialogue with European Luxury," hosted by Pauline Huang, who has abundant experience in luxury industry. She introduced the European industry and the four luxury groups, concluding the speech by introducing the uniqueness and strengths of the luxury industry in Taiwan.

Get to know Luxury

Luxury has had its long presence throughout the course of the human history. The history of luxury can be traced back to Greco-Roman civilization, where people exalted the beauty of culture through delicate and expensive items. For this Second Call 2019, the duration (a period of 4 months) of the professorial fellowship should be exercised in Ghent University (Belgium) during the second semester of the academic year 2019-2020 (4th year of the programme). It will start in February 2020.
Profile:

• PhD in Social Sciences, Political Sciences, History or Economics (preferably with knowledge of politics, international relations, law or economics of EU-East Asia relations)
• Expertise with research on Taiwanese and East Asian studies
• Expertise with education on Taiwanese and East Asian studies
• Good command of English (spoken and written)
• Ability to teach on EU-East Asia relations at MA level; involvement in the MA course EU-East Asia relations; there is some flexibility in how this course is implemented, this can be discussed taking into account the expertise of the candidate
• Ability to organize research seminars for PhD students in areas such as EU external relations, international relations, Taiwanese/ East Asian studies Candidates for the Professorial Fellowship shall be selected from any university or institution of higher learning in the Republic of China (Taiwan). The Professorial Fellow selected shall preferably be an/a (associate) professor on sabbatical leave from the Republic of China (Taiwan), and shall have minimal qualifications as a Ph.D. holder.
