The Taiwan EU Centre and Italy's Associazione Copernicani co-hosted the International Forum on Digital and Democracy on November 17-18. The forum was jointly guided by the European Commission and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Distinguished speakers include Vice President of the European Commission Věra Jourová, former President of the European Commission Romano Prodi, and Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs.

New Book Information: Title: EU in the Ever-evolving 21st Century: Pandemic Governance and Economic Diplomacy Series Editors: Su Hungdah, Zhou Hong Book Editors: Chin-Peng Chu, Chen Xin To promote and deepen research on the European Union, the European Union Centre in Taiwan signed an agreement with NTU Press in August 2009 to jointly publish a high academic standard book series on EU studies in Taiwan. Professor Pao Tsung-ho, the first series editor and succeeded by Director General of EUTW, Professor Su Hungdah in early 2011. The initiative seeks to consolidate the expertise of leading EU researchers nationwide, with the ambitious goal of publishing two books annually and eight books within a four-year span. Each publication is meticulously vetted through public workshops and anonymous peer reviews before release. The series is designed to cater not only to Taiwanese readers but also to scholars and students from Mainland China and the global Chinese intellectual community. Furthermore, content presented at forums and seminars will be made accessible on the website, ensuring a broader reach and impact.

As Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, in his report to Parliament České republiky, stated that the five priority issues for the Council of the European Union in the future include: Ukraine, energy, defense, economy, and democracy, within the issues the Ukraine, energy, and defense issues receiving the most attention.   As the Chairman of the EU, how does Czech view the Russia-Ukraine war? How should they respond to the referendum results in pro-Russian regions? Will they accept Ukraine's application to join the EU? The international joint symposium on “Post Russia-Ukraine War: The Security Perceptions of Turkey and Taiwan” is aimed at evaluating and debating the trends, complex patterns, and global implications of a changing security order by looking through the security perceptions of Turkey and Taiwan, both of which are challenged with multifaceted crises and risks in their regional security complexes.
