演講介紹:

擁抱文明存有論的多樣性：菲利普·德斯寇拉提倡將來人類與環境的共處之道
雖然菲利普·德斯寇拉在台灣的知名度或許還不夠高，但他的觀點確實引人深思。這位哲學家專注於探索人類的未來，可以肯定的是，他的研究在不久的未來將會有相當的影響。他曾在亞馬遜地區進行了深入的民族誌研究，這段經歷深刻地改變了他對於世界的認知，並且啟發他提出了關於存在的四種觀點：泛靈主義、圖騰主義、類比主義和自然主義。這些觀念巧妙地描繪了不同文明中，人類、非人類及其與自然環境的關係。
德斯寇拉挑戰了西方主流的自然主義思維，自然主義從十七世紀開始在歐洲盛行，其認定只有人類是獨特的，而其他生物和自然環境與我們並無直接關係。這種觀念成為了工業活動、資本主義和現代科學發展的基調，加劇了人類對自然的剝削。然而，德斯寇拉指出，透過觀摩、接納不同文明中關於存在的想法，我們可以看到民族誌研究如何幫助我們去想像，一個更具包容性的、未必以人類為中心的生活前景。
我們可以這樣理解菲利普·德斯寇拉的想法：要成就這樣的未來，不只要珍視我們熟知的生物多樣性，同樣重要的是，也要深入理解和肯定人類文明多樣性。

在他的演講中，德斯寇拉將分享他在法蘭西學院擔任人類學講座教授將近20年的研究。他標誌性的著作《可見的形式》（Les Formes du Visible）於2021年出版，厚達848頁，目前只有法文原文版，英譯本將由Polity出版社出版。在本書中，德斯寇拉著重探討圖像的本質和功能。他指出，圖像具有強大的魔力，能夠喚起我們的回憶，幫助我們整理思路和表達情感。更重要的是，這些圖像能夠呈現五大洲不同文化中關於存在的觀點，如泛靈主義、圖騰主義、類比主義和自然主義。

2023臺灣歐盟環境與科技論壇：《臺灣再生能源市場及企業 ESG 轉型風險》由彭博新能源財經 (Bloomberg New Energy Finance, BNEF) 攜手歐洲商會-低碳倡議行動 (The European Chamber of Commerce Taiwan - Low Carbon Initiative) 以及臺灣歐洲聯盟中心 (European Union Center in Taiwan, EUTW) 聯合舉辦，即將在 10 月 13 日舉行。

基於全球企業承諾實現淨零排放，各國積極擬定能源轉型政策的同時，也帶來龐大的機會和風險。據統計，2022 年全球能源轉型投資達 1.1 萬億美元，增長 31%。發展及採購綠色能源 (CPPA) 已成為臺灣關注的焦點，在 RE100-LCI 2022 年團購綠電報告書中，由於臺灣 2021 年政策規定，用電大戶（約300家，契約容量超過 5,000kW）在 2025 年必須採購 10% 來自再生能源電力，使臺灣企業對再生能源的需求大增。預計將增加約 1GW。因此，有效的政策變革能夠持續推動能源轉型。企業永續發展不再受到綠色能源缺乏的阻礙，反而成為臺灣出口的一大機遇。

縱觀全球，各國政府和企業已將綠色能源納入他們的重要議程。本次論壇聚焦如何量化風險、制定政策以及解讀市場格局以應對此重大轉型，從全球和臺灣的角度探討如何量化風險、制定政策以及解讀市場格局。

2023 EUTW Internship Program for foreign students in Taiwan is now open

The application period for the EUTW Internship Program is now open. The application deadline is 18 September 2023. A short CV must be submitted on or before the application deadline to ntueutw@ntu.edu.tw Places will be offered on a first-come, first-reviewed basis

Please note that it is an Unpaid internship with 3-6 months duration, at least two half-days office hours at Centre. During the internship, the intern will have the opportunity to also work at Low Carbon Initiative Action of the European Chamber of Commerce (ECCT) or the European Values Center for Security Policy (EVC) Taipei office. EUTW will not help to apply Work permit/ARC.

中心應邀加入由澳洲墨爾本RMIT、紐西蘭Canterbury共同籌辦的莫內亞太歐洲研究博士生區域會議，該計畫主要是提供三機構及盟校所推薦之6-18個月博士生，能與區域歐洲及歐盟研究社群同儕建立相關學術聯繫，深化彼此交流，計畫將在2023年內於三地分別舉辦博士生區域會議。

2023年第二屆莫內亞太歐洲研究博士生區域會議將於2023年11月1-3日於臺大社科院舉行，還就讀於臺灣大學之符合資格博士生請於9月1日前提交主辦方規定之相關文件給中心（ntueutw@ntu.edu.tw/ 主旨：2023年第二屆莫內亞太歐洲研究博士生區域會議申請），中心將從中推薦兩位博士生出席會議。
