1-20 December 2016 European Human Rights for Children: Polish Heritage@ NTU Library

Did you know that Poland was among the first countries to appoint an Ombudsman for Children? Throughout December, we will put on a series of events which will give you a chance to learn more about protection of children’s rights, and Poland’s leading role in youth advocacy.

On December 1st at noon, we invite you to join us at the opening of the "European Human Rights for Children: Polish Heritage" exhibition in the Zu-Zan Hall of NTU Library. The interpreter, Ms Lin Gorecka, will promote the recently published book of Janusz Korczak "How to love a child?"

Also, we look forward to welcoming you to a seminar on "Protections of Children’s Rights in Poland and Taiwan." It is also scheduled to take place on December 1st, at 1:30 pm, at the School of Law of NTU (1301 Multi-Media Room).

The seminar will feature many prominent speakers who made significant contributions to the field of children’s rights. Among them are the Polish Ombudsman for Children, Marek Michalak, the Chairperson of the International Janusz Korczak Association, Batia Gilad, and a social adviser to the Ombudsman, Barbara Smolińska-Theiss. The host of the seminar will be Professor Liao Fu-te, from Academia Sinica & National Taiwan University, Department od Law. His research focuses on human rights.
